About me
I'm a recent graduate from Academie Minerva in Groningen. Much of my childhood was spent outside, which taught me the rewarding nature of curiosity at a young age. My work generally displays my strong affinity for nature, but my greater interest lies in man's personal process of discovering of it. Curiosity; It drives art, science, and humanity itself. Through my work I attempt to bridge the gap between the domains of art and science, and to reconcile these with a public that has grown skeptical of their products in this rapidly changing world. We consider ourselves to be so artificial, so removed from nature, but in reality we are but clumps of cells that have only just started clawing their way from the mud. This endless search for human identity takes place in the vast grey area where our nature ends and our culture begins. It is a game of discovery in which the puzzle-pieces keep changing shape; a game of creation, reflection, and wonder.
